This year the Committee is excited to be hosting high profile Australian jazz singer, Ms Hetty Kate, as our notable Masterclass Artist. She comes direct from a recent tour of the USA and has toured extensively world-wide.
You can see Hetty in full swing mode at our special nostalgia-themed closing dance party A Night at the Royal on Sunday, 11th June at the Theatre Royal – click here. Gorgeous gowns, and loads of dancing guaranteed. Please note that this is a separately ticketed event and tickets are available online via the Festival Box Office.
Hetty will also provide two Musician Masterclass sessions in the Castlemaine Anglican Church on Saturday at 12 noon and Sunday at 3pm – click here.
Hetty, despite her youth, has an impressive depth of experience. She has won international acclaim with performances in North and South America, England, Europe, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. This included touring over four years with James Morrison and James’ “A to Z Of Jazz” Symphony Concert, performed with symphony orchestras throughout Australia and in New Zealand, Hong Kong and Czechoslovakia. She has released eight albums of her own, with guest appearances on five others; amazing achievements for one so young.
Hetty is looking forward to adding the Castlemaine Jazz Festival to her festival appearances which to-date include practically every jazz festival in Australia and New Zealand plus others in Japan, Italy, France and Czechoslovakia.
Castlemaine Jazz Festival is grateful to Hetty for making room for us in her busy schedule.
